Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is dropping season 17 on May 9. This would introduce some massive changes to the game including added features, new characters, revamps to the ranked system, and a lot more. But there is one update that might make you re-think logging back in, as it always remained trivial. Veterans from the 2nd season would instantly recognize the weapon with a drop of hint, for it seems the devs are all set to play with fire as they have re-introduced it in the game.

What are the new updates for Apex Legends Season 17?

First things first, the season has its name similar to a popular European football team, Arsenal. Followed by that, it will introduce ‘Ballistic,’ the fresh addition to the Apex Legends. For those uninitiated, the legend comes off as a combination of Lifeline and pure run-and-gun, as his abilities resonate the same. So, if you’re looking to switch to a new character and consider yourself a support player, Ballistic is the best option.

And while the addition of the new legend excites fans, there’s another big change in season 17. Apparently, the devs announced the return of L-Star, the energy ammo LMG that was once the meta. It shot plasma like bullets, killing enemies in a fraction of a second. This was because it had a phenomenal fire rate, almost making it hard to control at certain times. Nevertheless, the gun never lost its charm as the best use of it could turn lethal. However, the devs had taken it back into the vault until further notice.

But now, it looks like they are set to spice things up along with some more additions. However, it is important to note that L-Star will only be part of crate loot, and nowhere seen on the ground.
