HBO’s massive hit television series, The Last of Us is one of the finest examples of the transition of narratives between different formats. Based on the 2013 gaming masterpiece by Naughty Dog, the television series was successful in winning the hearts of both veteran fans and newcomers. 

Capitalizing on the success of the show, Naughty Dog decided to re-release the game once again with graphical tweaks and some quality-of-life improvements. Initially, the PC port was a ‘mess’ but with constant updates, the devs have managed to salvage the game quite a bit. Now to take things further, fans have decided to merge both worlds.

Pedro Pascal arrives in the Last of Us Game

As the Last of Us returns to PC, modders have started working overtime to make every wild possibility into a reality. Among them, one of the mods that are getting the most heat is the Speclizer mod that changes the character model of the in-game Joel into the likeness of the television counterpart.

The HBO series featured some of the best talents in the industry, including Bella Ramsey as Ellie and Pedro Pascal as Joel. Ever since the show’s success, the Mandalorian actor is getting praise and love from fans and critics alike. But the moment when the modders decided to bring him into the game, all went to the dust.

Modder Speclizer changed the in-game model of Joel. From his body structure to the facial details, the modder was able to change the appearance of the character a lot. But while the effort was impressive, the end results weren’t enough to meet the ends.

The fans were very unimpressed by the Pedro Pascal mod

After the new television series-inspired mod went live, fans flock to express their thoughts and opinions. The general conscience was negative, as fans didn’t like the visage that was created by combining the original Joel with Pedro’s likeness.

One fan even generalized PC ports, saying, “And thats why i hate playstation games making their way to PCs Next thing you know is Shrek Daughter on Surgery table by Minion doctor,” giving a side-eye to the modding community’s shenanigans.

His efforts were, however, not left without praise. Many viewers acknowledged his efforts for attempting this and even nearly making it flawless. However, they advised that it can be the best of the best with a few tweaks.
