Saturday’s qualifying session witnessed some incredible action as Charles Leclerc takes home the pole position. Ferrari came into the week with some huge upgrades and they will be delighted with the start. Max Verstappen starts behind him while hometown hero Carlos Sainz starts third.

However, all was not smooth for the championship leader Leclerc. The Monegasque spun during his first lap in Q3 and that could have cost him. Ultimately, he showed his ability as he secured the pole with a stunning lap. The Ferrari driver starts on pole position on a track that is deemed difficult to overtake.

The problem, however, has been Ferrari’s race pace. Verstappen and his Red Bull have had the race pace advantage and straight-line speed compared to the Prancing Horse. In Imola and Miami, the Dutchman was in a league of his own. However, The F1-75 has come up with new upgrades and Leclerc will hope the new package shows exactly what they were lacking compared to the Bulls.

Ahead of the race tomorrow, the Monegasque revealed he was not sure whether it will be enough to beat Verstappen and Red Bull.

Charles Leclerc is unsure of the Ferrari’s potential

The RB-18 has certainly had an edge over Ferrari in terms of pace throughout the season. The race pace of Red Bull has also worried the team from Italy. Leclerc revealed that Ferrari’s FP3 session certainly showed potential and is hopeful of beating the reigning champion.

He said, “We did a long run this morning, it was a lot better than yesterday’s. It looks like we’ve found something. I don’t know if it’s enough to challenge Max and Checo, but it looks better than yesterday.”
