The Honey Badger showcased an excellent pace in Q1. But he had to spend most of the Q2 in the pit because of an issue with his MCL36. His late run in the Q2 didn’t give him enough time to get the temperature in his tires.

Daniel Ricciardo’s struggle continues in Miami GP

The 2022 season isn’t sailing the way the Honey Badger wanted. The Aussie only finished top 10 once in the last four races. After the disappointing Imola GP, Ricciardo hoped to shine at the inaugural Miami GP, but those hopes crashed for Ricciardo with a Q2 elimination.

“The first run we lost a lot of time through the second sector, so there were a couple of things which we were looking to address for the second run..” Ricciardo reported after the qualifying, “But then we had an issue in the garage starting the car which delayed us getting out at the right time. This compromised the out-lap, and then it was all just too compromised from there. It was unfortunate and cost us Q3, and that was that.”

Meanwhile, his teammate Lando Norris is outperforming him in the 2021 season. The young Brit has finished top 10 three times in the last four races, including the third-place finish in Imola. And now he has qualified P8 for the Miami race.
