Lewis Hamilton Takes a Jibe at Max Verstappen’s Two-Faced Nature After Phone Call

The 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for the eighth time. But the race was full of incidents and controversies for Hamilton.
The Mercedes driver collided with title rival Max Verstappen on Lap 1. The collision took Verstappen out of the race. Hamilton got a 10-second penalty but won the race with two laps to go.
The medical staff took Verstappen to the hospital after the crash. Hamilton recently revealed that he called Max, but criticized the Red Bull driver’s two-faced nature.

Max was surprised to hear from me: Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton called his rival before the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix. When asked about the context of the call and what they talked about, Hamilton mentioned,
“It was a good call. He was definitely surprised to hear from me. I think it was a constructive call and respectful. And we are going to keep racing hard and fair and respectful was the most important thing,” said Hamilton.

But Lewis was cautious of the fact that verbal agreements may not translate on the track. “Obviously, it’s one thing when people are talking to you or face-to-face with you,” said Hamilton.

The outcome cannot be changed now anyway: Max Verstappen on Lewis’ call
As reported by GPBlog, Max confirmed Lewis called him before the weekend. But he also stated that a phone call can not change the outcome at Silverstone. “Yes, he called me. We don’t have to go into details. We spoke to each other,” said Max.
“The outcome cannot be changed now, anyway. Especially the fact that we lost so many points is a shame. There’s not much else to say.

“I hit the wall hard at Silverstone. You never want that. The goal now is to have a good weekend here,” said Verstappen.
