Given the circumstances of the title fight heading into Silverstone, many felt that Lewis intentionally caused Max’s crash to regain his edge in the championships.
However, Toto Wolff believes the seven-time world champion does not need to prove anything to anyone. He stated Hamilton has achieved everything in the sport to get to the position he is in today, and thus, there is no reason for him to intentionally cause such a crash.
“I think he’s much beyond proving a point,” said Wolff. “He is a 99-time race winner and seven-time world champion. There is nothing Lewis Hamilton needs to prove to anybody anymore,” Wolff concluded.
