Normally, Kimi Raikkonen is well-known for his very short and brusque interviews. However, at the 2021 Spanish Grand Prix, the Finnish veteran went a bit off track, so to speak, and his interview was a little longer than usual. Behind him, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez was waiting his turn at the time.
The Alfa Romeo driver was talking to Sky Sports as Perez patiently waited for his turn. After the 41-year-old left, the Mexican quipped, “He speaks longer than I thought.” Well, looks like the Red Bull driver is aware of Raikkonen’s reputation as a person who is very frank and to the point.

Admittedly, the two drivers enjoyed fairly great races at the Spanish Grand Prix. The Mexican driver made up for an eighth-place qualifying position to jump up to fifth. Meanwhile, the Finnish veteran and 2007 world champion ended up 12th fastest, just shy of a points finish.
What to expect from Kimi Raikkonen and Sergio Perez?

Next weekend, the F1 paddock visits the Monte Carlo street circuit in Monaco. Both drivers are already familiar with the track and have visited the podium on a few occasions. However, Perez is the only one of the two who stands a realistic chance of making the podium. This is because he is driving for Red Bull, which is the second strongest team on the F1 grid.
Meanwhile, Raikkonen’s Alfa Romeo is a midfield car at best. However, a good qualifying session and a well-executed strategy could see a fruitful points haul. One should not discount his teammate, Antonio Giovinazzi, either, as he has really come into his own under Raikkonen.

On the other end of the spectrum, Sergio Perez is under a little bit of pressure. When he joined the Red Bull team, he was expected to keep up with teammate Max Verstappen. Unfortunately, he has struggled to live up to expectations so far, and Red Bull are known to be quite demanding in their expectations.
