The top LPGA Tour stars are all in New Jersey right now as they play in the third edition of the Mizuho Americas Open. After two rounds of action, Nelly Korda has risen up the table, competing with Somi Lee and Andrea Lee for the title. The world No. 1 would be eager to finally grab a win in 2025. She will not only end a losing streak for the season, but also successfully defend the title that she had also won last year.
While money might not be her first priority, everyone else on the field might have an eye on it. But can the players who made the cut for the weekend earn at the Liberty National Golf Club?

Roller-coaster ride in the first 36 holes
The first two rounds of the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open have seen a lot of ups and downs. Thursday was dominated by Jeeno Thitikul for most of the round. She sat at the top of the leaderboard, two strokes away from the rest of the field. Two golfers were chasing down the Thai player at 6-under par 66, Celine Boutier and Hye-Jin Choi. Korda was nowhere to be seen in the top 13 of the leaderboard.
However, after the end of the second round, the leaderboard has changed completely. Thitikul went 1-over par 73 to push herself down to T4. The world No. 1 remained consistent with her performance, which pushed her to the top of the table. Both Somi Lee and Andrea Lee also didn’t feature in the top 10 of the leaderboard. Just like Korda, they too took advantage of the field that did not add to their advantage from the first round. If this goes on over the weekend, then the winner of the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open will be very hard to predict.
