All You Need to Know About the Netflix Cup Starring PGA Tour Golfers and F1 Drivers

Gear up for an exciting and newest tournament on the horizon. Netflix has announced that it will host a golf event in the wake of two of its documentaries, Full Swing and Formula 1: Drive to Survive, titled The Netflix Cup.

The event will have players from the Formula One (F1) scene as well as notable golfers from the PGA Tour. Read ahead to know all the important details like schedule, players and how you can watch the Netflix Cup!

What is the Netflix Cup?

Netflix made two behind-the-scenes docu-series, one on Formula 1 and the second on golf players. The masses loved both series, and as a result, Netflix decided to combine the two for a tournament of its own. It was like hitting two birds with one stone. In the Netflix Cup, four F1 drivers and four exceptional golfers will make a team.

The golfers participating in the Neftlix Cup are Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and Max Homa. The F1 drivers who will be taking part are Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz, and Alex Albon. Each team will have one golfer and one driver. The team will play in a foursome format against the paired team.

The revealed pairs for the Netflix Cup are as follows: Alex Albon/Max Homa vs. Pierre Gasly/Collin Morikawa and Lando Norris/Rickie Fowler vs. Carlos Sainz/Justin Thomas. The series will stream on Netflix on November 14 at 3 pm ET/6 pm PST.

The Netflix Cup is set at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. If you have a Netflix account, you can access the live telecast of the event. However, Netflix has free tickets on request via the official website. The tickets are not guaranteed, but one can try!

Rules and hosts of the match

Each team will tee it up against the declared pair for a foursome match. The match will be played over eight holes and there will be a few surprises between the play to make it entertaining for the people.

The two teams winning the match 1 and 2 will then compete against each other for sudden death ninth hole. The announcer’s deck has PGA Tour golfer Joel Dahmen (who was cast in Full Swing), footballer Marshawn Lynch, comedian Bert Kreischer, and sportscaster Kay Adam.

This is the first time that PGA Tour golfers will be playing on a fun and unrestricted platform. With all four golfers being part of the TGL as well, this exposure will surely gear them up for what’s coming. As in TGL, each player will be miked up and the people watching will hear the ins and outs of the game. For a fun week, tune in to Netflix next Tuesday and enjoy a light-hearted round of golf!
