The legendary golfer Tiger Woods has finally moved on from his long-time sponsor. After being together for 27 years, the American golfer announced he was parting ways with Nike. This announcement was a bittersweet moment for fans, as the golfer mentioned that there would be another chapter, but surely not with Nike. The split between the two appeared to be emotional.

But this split also led to many speculations about his next sponsor. Some fans even wondered about him starting his apparel line or jumping to the TaylorMade if they started a clothing line. But what about the venture that Woods has already started? Did you guess TGL? Yes! You’re right! If the ad that was posted on LinkedIn turns out to be successful, one might wildly speculate that Woods may leave TGL!

It is no news that Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s tech-based team golf league, TGL Project, is suffering. The league was originally planned for August 2022, then January 2024, and now it is supposed to hit the floors in 2025. The reason was that the venue built in Florida was hit by the storms, with the air-supported dome section collapsing. But now it looks like another tech-based golf company is ready for the 48-year-old, or is it?

Recently, Callaway’s Top Golf posted a job listing for a Global Head of Golf Footwear and Apparel. Surprisingly, the qualifications required to land this job matched eerily closely to the American golfer’s track record. And he is the only one who could have landed it!

If readers are still confused, Top Golf posted this opening as a joke after the split between Nike and Tiger Woods. They included the hashtag #ItsAJobItsNotAJob, showing it’s not an actual position. However, if, by chance, the 82x PGA Tour winner accepted this offer, it would mean the end of TGL.

Topgolf is a company merging the worlds of golf and technology with its Toptracer technology, mobile games, and apps. However, the work they do is similar to what the TGL Project is aiming for. TGL is looking to start a league where 24 of the world’s best golfers will compete in events using golf simulators (similar to Toptracer technology).

So it is a good thing that Topgolf made that advertisement as a joke; otherwise, fans of TGL would have gotten heartbroken. TGL is the golfer’s brainchild, and he didn’t back away from it even with its venue collapsed recently. Furthermore, TGL has the backing of celebrity investors including Lewis Hamilton, Lebron James, Justin Beiber, Shaquille O’Neal, and Justin Timberlake, amongst others.

While the partnership between Nike and Tiger Woods has ended, the TGL Project is just getting started. Fans would just have to wait until this year to see it in action.
