Phil Mickelson has banked a huge seven-figure amount from the Masters

Lefty has won Masters three times, in 2004, 2006, and 2010, however, it was last year that made all the difference. He became the golfer who won the highest amount from the Masters, defeating Tiger Woods. For finishing in the runner-up position, he received a total of $1,5,84,000, which took his earnings to a whopping $9,773,317 over the years.

This took him to the 219th position on the PGA Tour career money list, just before the major champions such as Richard Beem, Ye Yang, and Darren Clarke. Well, having tied for the second position with Brook Koepka, Lefty managed to grow not just monetarily but also broke several other records. To begin with, he grabbed the lowest total in the history of the championship, scoring a 7-under 65 in the final round.

Will Phil Mickelson bounce back after the rough patch?

Although Phil Mickelson is one of the top contenders to look out for in Masters 2024 because of last year’s performance, he has not started the year with quite the same performance. To begin with the LIV Golf Mayakoba, he jumped down to tie for the 51st position with a total score of 11 over 224. In Las Vegas, he bagged the T30 position with 2 under 208 and the T52 position in Hong Kong with 8 over 208 on the scorecard.

This year, it was only in Jeddah that he managed to come in the top 10 with a total score of 10-under 200. The ongoing Miami too does not seem to be going very well for him, with a score of 4-over-76 currently tying for the 47 position (as of the first round). But his determination to win the Green Jacket might do the trick, as he repeated the same pattern last year, not giving a great start to the championship and then bagging records!
