Even though the two found it tough to gel well together, they shared a great bond as teammates. It was visible in the 2009 World Series win. Jeter’s comments reflected the same spirit when once in an interview asked about Alex Rodriguez’s slump during the season.

Myers asked Jeter about a lot of things, including Rodriguez’s slump. “Does he not getting a fair shake from the Yankee fans? Should he be more accepted?” he questioned Jeter.

To it, Jeter replied, “I mean, he’s, you know, the Yankee fans, they expect a lot. Alex expects a lot of himself, you know. So he’d be the first one to tell you that he expects to be successful every time out. But unfortunately, he can’t do that in baseball. But he’s having a pretty good season, and I’m sure he’ll be there for us at the end.”
Jeter’s answer was a proper teammate’s answer. It also showed the faith everyone had in Alex, who had defeated many challenges to come back stronger and retire as significant in the MLB.

Alex Rodriguez’s career reflects his grit and determination!
Alex had to go through distinct challenges, on and off the field. But the ex-Yankees star always came out as a winner and ended his MLB career on a high. Rodriguez made his MLB debut in 1994 and played till 2016. Over two decades, he recorded 2086 RBIs and scored 2021 runs with an OPS of 0.930. Rodriguez not only silenced his critics with a comeback approach and justified the faith put in by his teammates, including Jeter.
