During his time with the UFC, Conor McGregor has competed in three divisions. ‘The Notorious’ was a champion at both 145-pounds and 155-pounds. However, he has also ventured into welterweight where he has fought thrice. His record at welterweight is two wins and one loss. McGregor has made it no secret that he wants to return to welterweight and has even teased becoming a three-division world champion.
‘The Notorious’ has often engaged in a war of words with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. In the most recent exchange between the two, Conor McGregor put out a tweet shaming Jorge Masvidal for pulling out of his fight against Leon Edwards.
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ responded to the tweet, saying, “You should be quiet. You cry about injuries more than anyone after you get your a** whipped. Foot, Ankle, Shin what else am I missing?”

The most likely matchup for McGregor at welterweight would be against Nate Diaz. As the two men are one apiece, a trilogy would make a lot of sense. Also, Diaz, who is on the last fight of his contract, has made it very clear that he will only fight a top-ranked fighter.
A fight against McGregor would be a mega payday for Diaz. Also, it would be just the fight he needs to end an epic UFC career before deciding to venture elsewhere.
