With every win, Hendrick Motorsports inches closer to breaking one of the biggest NASCAR records. Rick Hendrick’s team is just three wins away from tying Richard Petty Motorsports’ record of 268 Cup wins. Wins from Kyle Larson and William Byron this season have already reduced the gap.
Larson’s win in Las Vegas a few days ago was Hendrick Motorsports’ 265th win at the Cup level. While they still need four wins to break the record, Hendrick believes his team will get there even sooner than anticipated.
The team boasts of having in their ranks the current NASCAR Cup champion, Chase Elliott. Larson has always been one of the more talented NASCAR prospects and is already showing his skills in the Hendrick No. 5 car.

Byron is also riding on the confidence from his win at Homestead-Miami. Meanwhile, Alex Bowman is also expected to visit Victory Lane soon in the iconic No. 48 car, previously driven by Hendrick’s most successful driver ever, Jimmie Johnson.
Rick Hendrick shows confidence in Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and others
Hendrick spoke about his current quartet of drivers and feels his team’s four drivers are each capable of winning at any time.
“You’ve got a champion in Chase (Elliott) and the experience in Larson. William has won two races and Alex (Bowman) has won. I feel like we can show up and any one of them can win, and that’s a great feeling,” owner Rick Hendrick said recently.
Elliott, the most successful driver on the current Hendrick roster, has come close to winning already this season but has faced some misfortune. Elliott will bag that win sooner than later, and once he finds his momentum again, he will be tough to stop.
While the likes of Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Elliott are the most decorated Hendrick drivers of all time, the owner remembered some other big names as well and thanked them.

“I think about Geoff Bodine and Tim Richmond and Terry Labonte and Kasey (Kahne), everybody that’s driven and won a race here,” Hendrick continued.
“It’s part of our legacy if we can accomplish it. It’s for everybody. Not only the people here today, but the people that have been here over all these years,” he added.
With the way they have kicked off the season and the consistent speed of the Hendrick cars, it will be interesting to see how further they will go in all-time wins in the years to come.
