So if we think about it, there is arguably no better place for a company to brand itself than on a car in victory lane. In light of this, a thrilling victory for Kyle Busch at Talladega Super Speedway would have gotten the right attention to his sponsors. But sadly, things backfired for one of them.

This week’s NASCAR Cup Series race marked the beginning of a new era for ‘rowdy’, his team RCR as well as their new sponsor Mclaren Custom Grills. The Canadian bbq grill manufacturer has tied up for a multi-race deal hoping for worldwide exposure given Busch’s popularity and larger-than-life persona.

Fortunately for his team and his new sponsor, the #8 Chevy raced its way across the finish line, emerging victorious while managing to avoid all the chaos ensuing on the track. With the race car returning to the victory lane with a brand new decal of its new partner, Mclaren Custom Grills certainly got the attention it needed!

Unfortunately, Busch’s big win did not translate to big business for the company, as an overwhelming number of Kyle Busch fans stormed its website, causing the website to crash! Popular NASCAR enthusiast and racing fanatic Daniel Baldwin shared the update on his Twitter handle tagging both the driver and his sponsor.

Soon after they took care of the problem, the company’s website was back in business. With the RCR driver’s promotion and his thrilling victory, Mclaren Custom Grills certainly got more than what they wished for, which they soon found out after the race.
