Stewart Haas Racing wanted everyone to remember what they are made of and their identity, along with a strong message. However, this move by the team has now turned on its head as they have received heavy backlash for their approach. For a team that has gone winless the entirety of 2023, coming out to say, “We’ve seen doubters and haters,” would lead to major flak, and that is what happened.

Stewart Haas Racing sends out a message of intent ahead of the 2024 season

Kevin Harvick’s time at Stewart Haas Racing is done, leaving Chase Briscoe as the lead driver. But that is how the team wants to run things going forward, following Hendrick Motorsport’s blueprint for success. Putting their faith in the young blood rather than relying on a veteran driver for the results.

So preparing for an overhaul of their approach towards the Cup Series races, they perhaps went overboard in stating their inventions. They called out the haters and doubters in their post on X. The statement read, “We’ve seen the doubters and heard all the haters. But anyone who doubts us doesn’t really know us. So we’re kicking off 2024 reminding everyone of who we are. Because as racers we’ve never lost out on ambition. And as a team, we’ve always stayed true to our DNA.”

This was then followed by a video by co-owner Tony Stewart who led the rally cries for the 2024 season. The message here was to be real and raw, not to hide the true self. Be unapologetic about the way they approach the races and challenges.

But in a bid to impose their lost identity, the team somehow irked the fans online, who are not too impressed with how they are rekindling their lost identity. As soon as the statement aged a bit, fans took note of it and then replied with a savage message on the post made by SHR.

A whole bunch of fans had their way of looking at the strong message sent out by Tony Stewart‘s team but they agreed on not being impressed with how they were approaching the next season. Take a look at some of the messages sent out by fans.

Another user mocked their approach of following Hendrick Motorsports and said, “(their DNA is mostly stealing Hendrick’s R&D, and then Kevin Harvick)”.

A fan also pointed out how this message could turn on its head if things go further downhill for SHR, “If this ages poorly it’s even worse than before”.
