While the much anticipated Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway brought back the thrill and excitement to its loyal fanbase, the race ended up becoming infamous for the show of bad blood between Hendrick Motorsports ace, Chase Elliott and Joe Gibbs Racing star, Denny Hamlin.

Although the ugly tussle was brief, it paved the way for a lot of backlash from the community as enthusiasts and pundits alike slammed Elliott for intentionally wrecking Hamlin following their slight collision. While the Hendrick Motorsports driver played it off by blaming “unfortunate circumstances,” Hamlin’s concrete tweet sent the whole community into a spiral as data indicates the act was intentional.

NASCAR has now suspended their golden boy for the next race owing to his on-track antics. However, the dramatic stunt now has caused havoc in the community. Elliott’s suspension has divided fans over his actions. While HMS fans still backed the driver, ardent racing fans tore down his recent tweet as they called out the impenitent driver!

Chase Elliott’s Sponsor Promo Doesn’t Go as Planned as Furious Fans Call Out the Remorseless Driver for His Ill-Intentions

Charlotte Motor Speedway delivered the hype it promised, unlike the returning North Wilkesboro track that got a rather mixed response from the community. While fans were delighted to witness the longest race of the series, they were stunned to see the vicious wreck of Denny Hamlin.

Running wide into the turn, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver bumped Elliott, pushing the #9 Chevy into the wall. However, Elliott responded radically. He right-hooked the #11 Camry with Hamlin crashing into the wall head first.

After the community witnessed the vicious wreck with their hearts at their throats, Hamlin uncovered the SMT data post-race that proved Elliott’s ill intentions. Coming to the present scenario, fans quickly tore down Elliott’s recent tweet, lauding his sponsor, NAPA. On the contrary, the tweet reignited the controversy as fans exchanged words online.

Despite him teasing a public appearance, fans did not bother to say hi as they rag-dolled the driver. The gallery wasn’t all hostile, the post also had HMS fans defend Elliott while others turned up to bash him.

While other drivers are preparing for this week’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway, Elliott is licking his wounds as the organization has parked him for one race. With only a handful of races to go in the season, the next events will be critical for Elliott’s Playoff hopes.

Playing it cool did not diffuse the situation as his “unfortunate circumstances” comment was met with massive criticism. And for the worse, the latest update has triggered an avalanche of comments and tweets.

Wrecking someone on track and appreciating his fans for their support. That statement doesn’t really go well. And it certainly didn’t as annoyed fans went for the kill as Elliott’s on-track person faded into a facade for many furious fans.

“Chase Elliott didn’t even give a halfa**’d apology”

Another fan noted the irony of the situation, “Chase Elliott: right hooks Denny and violently crashes him on most dangerous part of the track. Also Chase Elliott: “Appreciate everyone’s support this week.” Naw that don’t sit right with me”

On the other hand, Hendrick fans did not let their favorite driver unguarded,

“Supporting through the good & bad – that’s what fans do. Enjoy your time visiting with your fans.”

“Support you 100%. I can’t wait for you to be back behind the wheel next week.”

Whereas another fan perfectly coined the bitterness of the situation,

“Chase as usual, going through the motions, with no sign of caring about all of his loyals he F’d over this week by not being on track. No public apology, no F’s giving. Chase will be out of NASCAR in 5 years trying other adventures & he’ll hate himself for taking it for granted”
