As the prestigious North Wilkesboro Speedway hosts the much-awaited All-Star Race, former Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Steve Letarte joins the studio as he names his favorites for the short track.

Given the fact that the iconic track is hosting a Cup Series race after 27 years just adds to the excitement factor for the home crowd. With the track now renovated and good to go, the short track favors many prominent drivers on the roster. In the latest episode of the Dirty Mo Dough podcast, the former crew chief picked his options from the lot as he cited a “dangerous” driver.

The Dirty Mo Dough podcast has the analysts cherry-pick the betting favorites for this week’s race at North Wilkesboro. NBC sportscaster Steve Letarte recently revealed a rather intriguing name as he picked his favorite RFK Racing driver.

The former Hendricks crew chief joined his parlay pals, Chopper and the Professor, as the trio actively discussed the favorites for the coveted short track and gave their picks for the All-Star race. While they discussed the betting favorites among the roster, the pals also made sure they state facts and gave details of the short track. Soon, Letarte had an interesting pick. The analyst picked NASCAR veteran, Brad Keselowski as a significant player coming into the race even though the driver has never won an All-Star Race.

The 43-year-old clarified his reasons for choosing Keselowski despite considering the fact that RFK Racing’s weakness is their race car. He said, “I think a guy like Keselowski could be dangerous. Never won the All-Star race, so I think he’s going to go there and be the fastest. Look, you know he’s a clever driver, right? Is he man enough to say, ‘Listen guys, we don’t have the car today bud; we just don’t have it.”

With over 30 Cup Series wins, Keselowski is certainly a driver to watch out for. And coming into the race, he is the 8th in the points table. The 39-year-old veteran even made a last-minute rally to finish fourth in Darlington. The discussion saw the former HMS crew chief naming an HMS driver as his next pick.

Coming into this week’s race, the Hendrick Motorsports garage is not the place it once used to be. Following his horrific crash in a local Sprint series race, Alex Bowman has been sidelined due to injuries. The team quickly brought in the Xfinity Series sensation Josh Berry as the replacement.

Berry had showcased his talent even when he was brought in as Chase Elliott’s replacement. He picked up an impressive second-place finish at the Richmond Raceway. He will start the All-Star Open at the 2nd spot. Letarte picked Berry as another one of his favorites coming into the race.
