“I Wanna Do What Tony [Stewart] Did”: Brad Keselowski Wants to Follow in SHR Owner’s Footsteps to Seal His NASCAR Legacy in Stone

There’s no denying that Tony Stewart is among the best drivers in the history of American motorsports. The legend has not just tried his hand but has come out as a champion in a wide variety of formats of motor racing. Among the unending list of his peers who admire his endurance is Brad Keselowski. But Keselowski doesn’t stop at mere admiration; he wants to follow in Tony’s footsteps.

Being both Xfinity and Cup Series champion and a Cup team owner, it came as a surprise when Keselowski revealed he wants to do what Tony did in his career. But what did Keselowski mean by that?

Brad Keselowski, in conversation with Kenny Wallace, talked about his future goals and things he wants to achieve in life going forward. Keselowski made some interesting reveals about his life goals, which came as a surprise to many. Spoiler alert: Brad Keselowski still has a plan to run for another championship. But this time, he doesn’t want to do it for himself.

Keselowski reveals why he wants to follow Tony Stewart and talks about the day he lives for

Kenny Wallace, during the latest episode of “The Kenny Conversation,” was accompanied by the veteran of over 500 Cup Series starts, Brad Keselowski. During the conversation, Kenny dived into his memory pool and relived the moment when Keselowski won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship in 2012. He shared one of his favorite memories of that win. Kenny said, “And still this day, in a fun-loving way, I just loved it when you drank that cold beer baby and celebrated that championship.” 

Talking about his championship win, the RFK Racing co-owner made an interesting reveal. Keselowski said, “Well, I’d like to do it again, Kenny. That’s my goal. I want to win another championship.

“I want to do what Tony did. I want to win as a driver and owner. I want to stand in Victory Lane with all the cameras and all the media around me, and they’re pulling at you, and I just want to sit down and drink a beer.”

However, how fulfilling it would be if you are making it big in life and have your family by your side to celebrate with you! That is exactly what Brad Keselowski lives for. Revealing his goal going forward in life, Keselowski said, “I think that would be great with my wife and my kids and my friends and my family and the team around me. That’s the day that I live for. It’s the day I dream of. I’m trying to make that a reality.”

The conversation between Brad Keselowski and Kenny Wallace became more interesting when Kenny mentioned he shared the same dream.

Brad Keselowski mentioned that when he won the Sprint Cup Championship in 2012, he wasn’t married and did not have kids. Kenny latched on to this and remarked, “That’s why you want to win it all again!” 

Keselowski confirmed the reason why he wanted to win a championship again, when he said, “You know what it’s a big part of? I want my kids to see it. I want my wife to be there with me, and I want to just relish that moment.”

Hearing this, Kenny Wallace mentioned that he used to have the same dream that Keselowski has now. The only difference is that Kenny’s dream came true a year ago. Talking about experiencing a grand win in his family’s presence, Kenny said, “I told my wife, ‘Honey, I’m thinking about slowing my dirt racing now.’ She says, ‘Not until your grandbabies go to Victory Lane with you.’ So that’s it.

“And we did it at the end of last year. It took beautiful timing.”

When you share happiness with your loved ones, it only grows. Even though Brad Keselowski is one of the veterans of the sport, he feels he is yet to experience a championship win in his family’s presence. And we hope that day comes soon for the RFK co-owner.
