“I’m a Very Conservative Driver”: Chase Elliott Makes Sensational Claim NASCAR Fans Would Have a Hard Time Believing

Recently, 2020 NASCAR Cup champion Chase Elliott made an appearance on a podcast. Ahead of the 2023 Cup season, the driver is preparing for a fresh campaign. In a telephonic conversation with hosts Frank and Heidi, Elliott opened up about his driving habits away from the race track. Obviously, NASCAR drivers ought to have a regular driver’s license, unless they are too young to own one, which is a little hysterical.

Elliott told the Heidi and Frank Morning Show, “I’m a very conservative driver on the road, believe it or not. I got a ticket there, early on when I was 16–17, somewhere in there, that pretty much did it for me.” In other words, the #9 driver likes to think that he is a safe driver and does not wish to cause unnecessary accidents on the road.

Truthfully speaking, the Hendrick Motorsports team is one of the top teams. So Elliott and his teammate Kyle Larson should theoretically be right in the mix for wins. However, there are plenty of other teams who are strong contenders. This includes the likes of Joe Gibbs Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Team Penske, and many more. Additionally, there are the newcomer teams like Trackhouse Racing Team, who can prove to be the dark horse this season.

This year, the competition is expected to be much fiercer and new players have come to the party. Furthermore, some high-profile drivers have joined new teams, and will be hungry and eager to hit the ground running. Chief among them are 23XI Racing’s new recruit Tyler Reddick, and Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch.

Busch in particular will be hugely motivated to perform well for his new employers. Owing to this, Chase Elliott could have his hands full with several rivals hounding him for the rest of the season.
