Daniel Hemric is set to make a triumphant return to Kaulig Racing in 2024. Hemric, the 2021 Xfinity Series champion, is no stranger to Kaulig, having raced with the team for the two full-time Xfinity seasons. However, the big news is that Hemric will be making the leap to one of Kaulig Racing’s Cup Series rides. This announcement comes as Justin Haley, the current driver of the #31, has confirmed his move to Rick Ware Racing for the next season.

Moreover, Hemric’s journey in the Cup Series isn’t uncharted territory. He previously competed in NASCAR’s premier series with Richard Childress Racing. Accumulating one pole position, one top-five, and three top-10 finishes across 47 Cup starts.

Speaking about this significant development, Chris Rice, the President of Kaulig Racing, shared his admiration for Hemric’s perseverance. “Tough times only last a short period of time, tough people [however] last a long time.”

When asked during the announcement about why, he took a step back and didn’t participate in the Cup Series, Hemric said, “Of course, I wanted to be in Cup races this year, but the task at hand was to spend as much time as possible in the Xfinity series and try to give ourselves the best opportunity possible to win and run for a championship. So yeah, I mean for me, sometimes taking a step back is actually taking a step forward. And I think there’s no bigger testament of that. You just gotta continue the process and have faith that’ll work out just how it’s supposed to.”
