Attention all Stewart-Haas Racing fans! The SHR spotter silly season has officially ended after weeks of startling twists revealed by the sport’s second pair of eyes on Twitter. First, it was veteran spotter Eddie D’Hondt who startled fans of Chase Elliott and Hendrick Motorsports by announcing his departure after twelve years and 26 victories. Just when we thought it couldn’t get more interesting, Ryan Preece’s spotter shifted his allegiance to the newcomer eager to make his mark, Noah Gragson.

Now, we finally have official confirmation from Stewart-Haas Racing about the spotters for all four of its Cup Series entries. And much like its other categories, there have been a few changes, and a certain pairing has got the NASCAR community bursting with excitement. And it’s not just newcomer Noah Gragson who has a brilliant spotter behind him!

Stewart-Haas Racing reveals its 2024 spotter lineup including an iconic figure

Stewart-Haas Racing took to Twitter to announce their 2024 Spotter lineup for all four of their entries. The star of the show, Eddie D’Hondt, is all set to assist the rising star Josh Berry and take him under his wing in the No. 4 car. After getting an early SHR deal and skipping silly season woes, Berry will be elated to have a veteran spotter who even partnered with Jeff Gordon in the past. Earlier this season, D’Hondt bid farewell to Chase Elliott after 468 races and a championship together, so it’s safe to say the legendary spotter is eager to get back to winning ways.

On the other hand, Andy Houston, who was the SHR spotter for the #41 car will shift his duties from Ryan Preece’s side to the No. 10 Mustang alongside Noah Gragson. Another big change is the inclusion of Tony Raines as the spotter for the #41. Preece will be relieved to find out Raines’ background as a part-time spotter for Front Row Motorsports.

The only constant that stood the test of time at Stewart-Haas Racing was the combination of Joe Campbell and Chase Briscoe in the #14 Mustang. After he departs from SHR, Tim Fedewa finds his journey taking him to the doorstep of Team Penske, as a spotter for Ryan Blaney in 2024. With all the spotters in place, Stewart-Haas Racing must hope their plan will pay dividends.

When Eddie D’Hondt announced his departure from Hendrick Motorsports, the community was sent into a frenzy, trying to figure out what the ace spotter’s next move would be. When he found his new home at Stewart-Haas Racing, Josh Berry was amongst the first to share his excitement. He retweeted SHR’s announcement and added, “We have been so excited about this. @TheEddieDHondt is going to be a huge addition to our team. Can’t wait to get going! 💪🏻💪🏻”
