Seems like disappointing news doesn’t stop flowing from Zion Williamson‘s camp. Ever since the offseason kicked off, it has all been a negative press for him. Off-court issues keep piling up and the on-court issues have also had their say. Combining these two, his image has certainly taken a huge dent. Coming in 2019 as the number one draft pick, he was compared to LeBron James, but his current trajectory is nowhere near that.
In other devastating news, there are murmurs that the Forward is unwilling to do things that improve his game. What are the things that he refuses to do?

The Pelicans Forward earned his laurels as an elite talent ever since he was a teenager. His power game was too much to handle for kids around his age. His reputation as a slam dunker only grew further as he entered the league. Unarguably, he is one of the best inside players in the league and there is no defender who can keep up with him when he scores inside. His assortment of power dunks has mesmerized many fans but has also led to certain questions.
Since his game style requires immense power and a lot of energy from the lower body base, injury troubles increase. However, as per renowned FS1 analyst Ric Bucher, Zion Williamson has refused to work on moves like floaters and pull-up jumpers. These moves put a lot less pressure on the body compared to the barrage of power moves. He took Blake Griffin as a case study, someone who’s known for his high-flying jams but developed an in-between game to elongate his career.

Zion Williamson reportedly has ‘no interest’ in developing a floater and pull up jumper, per @RicBucher
“Where are the floaters, up and under layups, his pull up jumpers at the elbow? Now from what I’ve been told, he’s shown no interest in developing any of those tricks. Tricks… pic.twitter.com/XIfWfvtpG8

As a rookie, he had knee surgery; he broke his finger in his sophomore year. He also missed his entire third season because of foot surgery. Back problems have also mounted up as his career has progressed. Since the start of his career, he has just been a part of 114 games out of the 318 possible games, meaning he has missed around two-thirds of matches. This is a huge number even when accounting for the load-management system, allowing stars to nurse their injuries by resting in regular season games.
What can we expect from Williamson?

The mounting injury problems and the refusal to work on them have spurred the New Orleans Pelicans to move on from the power slammer. His off-court issues aren’t doing him any favors. Adult star Moriah Mills has worsened things, blasting him for being a s*x addict and cheating others when he posted photos with his pregnant girlfriend, Akheema, who will bring his child into the world soon.
The combination of both the off-court and on-court concerns is hinging his career growth. He’s still just 23 years old and has a long way ahead. There can be a lot of suitors who can benefit from him. After all, when he was active for Pels last season, they were among the top teams in the West.
