Over the decade, the Golden State Warriors have built a dynasty that has made them one of the favorite teams in the league. Currently, their spark has been diminishing and the intricacies of the issues plaguing this team are evident through their performance this season. The Dub Nation has seven Championships under its belt, with the last title clinched in 2022. This was the pinnacle of their success, and since then, things have gone south for the once mighty franchise.

From consistent injuries to Coach Steve Kerr struggling with rotations amidst Draymond Green‘s outbursts, there are multiple layers to the Warriors’ problem. Add to this, the pressing reality that their star players are no longer in their prime. Despite the many drawbacks, owner Joe Lacob is optimistic that things will turn around.

Joe Lacob expects the team to pick themselves up

The American business executive has faith that the team can regain its past glory and is unwilling to settle for anything less. “We’re never going to bottom out. I won’t settle for that. We’re not doing that,” he asserts. Joe bought a majority stake in the team in 2010. Before this, the Warriors had made it to the playoffs only once in the previous 16 seasons. Then, the 2015 Championship win marked the resurrection of a sleeping giant. And Joe accepts the fact that things won’t always be great, “It’s possible we’ll get caught with our pants down.”

However, he expects the team to pull up their socks and rebuild their dynasty. He wants the Warriors to not lose their competitive spirit despite the challenges they are currently facing. “I can’t make everything work all the time. There’s no way to predict that. But the only thing is we’ll never sit around and accept mediocrity. We’re not going to sit around and let this happen to us,” he says. Joe is waiting for the much-anticipated comeback.

The Warriors’ woes run deep

After the 2022 title win, the Dub Nation has had to deal with constant injuries that proved to be a huge drawback. When they acquired Chris Paul, they had hoped to alleviate their struggles, but that hasn’t worked out. Now, the problems have widened. Draymond’s suspensions greatly slowed down the team, Klay Thompson has lost his touch, and young star Jonathan Kuminga is yet to truly find his groove. Additionally, it is no secret that age has caught up to the core players.

Amidst all these, Steph Curry has been consistently performing well and carrying the team. Now, the Warriors seem to have picked up some pace. They have won eight of their last ten games, which is an encouraging number. However, we have yet to see some major turnarounds in their collective performance.
