“He Really Care About Basketball”: Ex-Laker Hails LeBron James’ Work Ethic While Describing the Pressure of Playing in Los Angeles

One of the greatest players to ever play the sport of basketball is LeBron James. Currently playing his 21st season in the NBA, the Akron Hammer is the oldest player in the league, however he still manages to dominate his opponents every time he steps on the court. Even at the age of 39, he is able to average 24.7 points per game and is the cornerstone of his team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
And speaking of the Lakers, a former Laker recently guest starred on a podcast and praised the L-Train for his dedication toward the sport of basketball.

A former Lakers player, Wesley Matthews recently appeared on the Club 520 podcast. There they asked him about his experience playing alongside the 4x NBA Champion to which he said, “I gotta a lot of respect for him. Like seeing Bron’s level of attention to detail and stuff like that was pretty impressive. He’s doing what he is doing for a reason like he the first one tapped up, first one with ice bags on, ready for film and all that kinds of stuff. He really cares about basketball so like that kinda environment is cool for someone that feels the same way.”

This goes to show the dedication of the 19x All-Star even at the age of 39. James is setting a new pinnacle for athletes by proving that with the correct mindset, anything is achievable. His team even won the first ever NBA Cup and he was the MVP of that tournament.
However even though the Lakers won the Inaugural In-Season tournament, they are facing difficulties in the regular season. Bron even has the support of the 8x All-Star Anthony Davis and together they make a deadly duo. But even then their team hasn’t been able to earn the success it should as it lacks support from the rest of the teammates.
The Lakers should think of rebuilding their squad
Aside from Austin Reaves, the Lakers’ supporting cast has fallen short of expectations, particularly in defense and scoring. Despite having the franchise players at hand, the club is unable to establish momentum. The motivation to compete for a championship increases because of James’ uncertain future, stressing the need for a win-now mentality.

The proposed approach calls for the Lakers to be aggressive buyers at the trade deadline, even if it means foregoing future assets or young potential.
With the championship opportunity ending, bringing in impact players like Pascal Siakam or Zach LaVine will be considered as possible options to improve the team’s chances.
