However, the two may soon share a similar off-court endeavor. After following Kylian Mbappe’s footsteps this offseason to seek a $1,100,000,000 from Saudi Arabia, the Milwaukee Bucks forward has now revealed a Jordan-esque career vision.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been in the news throughout the 2023 offseason. The 2-time MVP first made an attempt to seek a lucrative deal from the Saudi Arabian soccer club Al-Hilal who stunned the world with their offer for the French phenom, Kylian Mbappe. Then came a shocking revelation about his future with the Bucks that sent the fans into a frenzy. Now comes an interesting post-retirement plan that emulates His Airness’ endeavors.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has achieved the highest pinnacles of NBA success before even turning 30. However, the 7-time All-Star has evidently not settled yet. While he plans to elevate his NBA success, he also has greater goals for his post-retirement career. Although this closely resembles Michael Jordan’s career path. The Greek Freak would like to own an NBA franchise, much like His Airness.

After his retirement, Michael Jordan owned the Charlotte Hornets for over a decade before selling his shares this year. Antetokounmpo has now revealed that he would like to do the same. In a recent appearance on the “48 minutes” podcast, The Greek Freak revealed this ambitious future career goal.

“Yeah it is” said Antetokounmpo when asked about whether his dream is to own an NBA franchise in the future. He then mentioned, “For you to own the NBA franchise, you gotta have money.”

“As you move forward, it get more expensive and expensive. But yeah, eventually I would want to own an NBA franchise, that would be a dream come true. And not just own it….bring the right management, bring the right people to you know, win a championship….” he continued.

Antetokounmpo envisions owning an NBA franchise in the future, similar to the Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan. However, he does understand the financial burden that comes with it. Purchasing an NBA franchise is certainly not an easy task nowadays.

The valuation of the league and its franchises has skyrocketed over the years, only increasing the price tag that these franchises come with. However, seems like Antetokounmpo has a way to fund this endeavor of his. How, you ask? By following the footsteps of soccer phenom, Kylian Mbappe and lure a deal in Saudi Arabia.

The Greek Freak has ways to fund his dream

Giannis Antetokounmpo has set his sights on owning an NBA franchise in the future. Given his stature and net worth, the 2-time MVP can definitely pursue this significant endeavor. However, if he falls short, he has his ways to fund his dream.

After Kylian Mbappe landed a whopping $1,100,000,000 deal from Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal, Antetokoumpo threw his hat into the mix in order to bag a similar deal.

This attempt, although hilarious for fans, may have served as a terrific way to finance his dream of owning a franchise in the future. After all, the NBA valuation is not going down anytime soon.
