Thanks to LeBron James’ back-to-back triple-doubles, the Lakers have come out stronger after the All-Star break. Before that, they were on a downward spiral, and it looked like Davis’ absence was going to cost them heavily.
There is no doubt that Anthony Davis is a crucial piece for the Lakers organization. But the team is in no hurry to bring their secondary star back on the court.

Almost a week ago, a Lakers reporter had announced that AD would be examined after two weeks. His progress would be evaluated, and they will make an announcement about his return afterward.
From the Lakers: Anthony Davis was examined by team doctors this evening. He is progressing in his recovery and has been cleared to enter the next phase of his return to play process. He will be re-evaluated by team doctors in two weeks and an update will be given at that time.

However, sources have now confirmed some more bad news. It is possible that LeBron James‘ right-hand man might be out for another three weeks or more before he can make a steady comeback.
Apparently, the Lakers want to adopt the best approach to bring Davis back, even if it is at the cost of them slipping down in the Western Conference.
It makes sense because their place in the playoffs is most likely final. They will want to keep him in perfect health when they need him the most.
When did the Lakers’ bad luck begin?

The medical staff had declared that Davis was struggling with his Achilles Tendinosis back in February. He had missed two straight games because of it, and when he returned to play against the Memphis Grizzlies, it seemed like the worst was over. But that was far from it.
When AD played against the Denver Nuggets, he was exiting the court by the second quarter and limping. After that, Davis did not return, but the good news was that he hadn’t torn his ACL. It was just a strain in the calf. What looked like a minor inconvenience has now turned into a severe problem.
Since then, Davis hasn’t played for the purple and gold. He even missed the All-Star Game because of it. However, what’s happened has happened, and now the Lakers’ only focus should be on bringing Davis back. Lakers fans can only hope it happens as soon as possible before it’s too late for the reigning champions to claim their throne again.
