Although the Los Angeles Lakers have endured a dismal season, fans would witness pure greatness from LeBron James. In a closely fought contest against the Golden State Warriors, LeBron dropped 56 points and gave the Lakers a much-needed win. Although the win didn’t improve their standing in the West, it gave fans hope in the ability of LeBron James to carry the Lakers. Even at 37, they still believe that having LeBron on their squad gives them the best chance to win.

Although LeBron put on a show in LA, some believed that there were external factors that contributed to LeBron’s performance. One such person with that perspective is Skip Bayless. He regarded LeBron’s success as a result of the series of flops that the Warriors have undergone because of poor performances from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

“Steph Curry is in the worst three-point shooting slump of his career, and he has plummeted to his worst three-point shooting percentage of his entire storied career,” said Bayless.

Thereafter, he called Klay Thompson a ‘disaster’ for being ineffective for the Warriors and also for walking into the tunnel prior to the end of the first half. He then added the following about both Warriors’ stars.

“He (Klay Thompson) was just a liability as was Steph in the 4th quarter when he was 1 of 4 from three,” added Bayless.

In Conclusion

The Golden State Warriors have had a poor start to the second half of the season. The franchise is on a 5 game losing streak and only has 2 wins in their last 10 matches. With Draymond Green out, much of the Warriors’ success is reliant on the ‘Splash Brothers.’ However, their poor performances have been a cause of concern. So it’s understandable why Skip Bayless pointed fingers at the Warriors’ duo.

However, one must give due credit to LeBron James. After all, it is his heroics that are keeping the Lakers afloat and in contention for a postseason run. As long as he remains healthy, the Lakers can still be hopeful of a miracle. However, unlike the Warriors, who are in a better position despite the losses, the Lakers will have to work extremely hard to earn a postseason opportunity. They must support the ‘King’ and not just rely on him for rescue.
