A comeback after retirement is not a normal thing in sports. Although it is uncommon, few athletes have made a return to their beloved sport after initially hanging up their boots. The most famous example of this is the legendary Michael Jordan, and he did so twice. Another great shooting guard, Dwyane Wade, seems to be contemplating a return to the basketball court.

Wade is arguably one of the greatest shooting guards of all time. He is a three-time NBA champion and one-time Finals MVP to go along with various other achievements. Recently, Wade posted a video on his Instagram of him getting up shots and dunking on a court. Along with the video, there was a caption that read, “What age did Jordan come back?”  

Fans, obviously, got excited seeing the former Miami Heat legend practicing. The guy shooting the video was surprised as well seeing Dwyane Wade. He chuckled, “How you still got bounce like that?”. The 13-time All-Star retired in 2019 after 16 years in the league. Seeing Wade make a Michael Jordan-esque comeback would undoubtedly be amazing.

One of the happiest people to see Wade back in the league would be his great friend and former teammate, LeBron James. They were a legendary duo during their days with the Heat. They have multiple iconic plays together to go along with four Finals trips and two championships.

The legend of Dwyane Wade

The 40-year-old was known as the Flash before injuries derailed the latter part of his career. He was drafted fifth by the Miami Heat in the 2003 draft. He won his first championship in just his third year after putting up one of the greatest NBA Finals performances ever. Wade was deservedly awarded the Finals MVP.

His stock only rose after that as he became one of the best players in the league. However, constant injuries forced him to adjust his style of play. After teaming up with fellow 2003 draftees LeBron James and Chris Bosh, he went on to win two more titles to cement his legacy as an all-time great.
