The game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies got heated as an altercation broke out between Dillon Brooks and Cavs’ Donovan Mitchell. The Cavaliers went home with the victory. However, during the game, the two got into a scuffle, leading to the officials and the rest of their teammates intervening to separate them. After the game, Donovan Mitchell had some words for the Grizzlies guard, which led to a wave of online resentment towards Brooks from many fans.

During the third quarter of the game, Dillon Brooks drove into the paint for a layup but was denied and ended up crashing onto the floor. Brooks swung his arm as he tried to get up, hitting Mitchell in his groin.

A furious Donovan Mitchell quickly was enraged and threw the ball at Brooks. He then went on to shove Brooks and throw him onto the ground, starting the altercation. Now, officials may have said that Mitchell started the fight.

However, it was Brooks swinging his arm that got Mitchell irate. Post the game, Mitchell had some words for Brooks. According to Peter Dewey, ‘Spida’ said, “That’s just who he is. We’ve seen it a bunch in this league with him. Him and I have had our personal battles for years. Quite frankly, I’ve been busting his a** for years.”

Not the first time Brooks got into an altercation

This was not the first time Brooks was in the highlight for the wrong reasons. First, the quarrel with NFL veteran Shannon Sharpe started with Dillon Brooks jawing at him at their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Besides that, Brooks tried to start some beef with Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors. Brooks got absolutely shut down by the entire Warriors’ big three, including Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
