After an iconic playoffs run beating the likes of the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Lakers 2022-23 NBA season has come to an end. LeBron James and co suffered a heartbreaking 4-0 sweep in the Western Conference Finals at the hands of Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Following this loss, there have been reports about James’ future with the franchise with reports claiming that the four-time NBA champion might retire.

On top of all such internal issues, there have been reports which claim that the Dallas Mavericks might be in for a swoop. According to reports, the Mark Cuban-owned side might go all in for a former NBA champion.

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a great 2022-23 NBA season. Although they lost 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals, their achievements this season cannot be undermined. They qualified as the #7 seed and beat the #2 seed Grizzlies in the first round.

Moreover, they got past the Warriors led by Stephen Curry in brilliant fashion. However, they suffered a humiliating sweep at the hands of Nikola Jokic in the Western Conference Finals. With a monstrous performance, the 2-time league MVP clinched the Western Conference Finals MVP award.

Following this loss, it seems the Dallas Mavericks are ready to go all in for one of the Lakers’ biggest superstars. It is none other than the 8x All-Star Anthony Davis.

According to eminent media personality Colin Cowherd, “The Dallas Mavericks have had their eyes on Anthony Davis.” Considering the situation the Lakers are in currently, the Mavericks might as well go in for AD.

James’ future with the franchise remains uncertain. Moreover, there are certainly going to be some departures during the offseason. With all such issues, Davis’ departure will cripple the franchise of two of its players.

How has Davis performed during this year’s playoffs?

Anthony Davis has been one of the best players for the Lakers during the 2023 NBA playoffs. However, he has been heavily inconsistent.

Despite his inconsistencies, AD has posted great stats for his team. In 16 games, he averaged 22.6 points, 14.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 3.1 blocks.
