Lakers’ Austin Reaves Left in Awe of LeBron James After Impressive Performance Despite Anthony Davis’ Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Utah Jazz at the Crypto.com arena on Wednesday. LeBron James and the Lakers were coming off a loss to the Golden State Warriors while the Jazz were on a 6 game winning streak.
The Lakers started off hot, and they went on a 11-0 run to start the game. But the Jazz fought back, with Donovan Mitchell going off in the first quarter. Anthony Davis also had a hot start as he finished the quarter with 15 points. Both teams were level on points when they entered the second quarter.
The Jazz then started to separate themselves as Mitchell continued his onslaught. But then, Anthony Davis suffered a brutal ankle injury after he landed on Rudy Gobert’s foot. He was helped by his teammates to the locker room and he did not return to the game.

The Jazz capitalized on this, and they built a 14 point lead in the third quarter. The Lakers looked to be heading to another defeat, but the King had other ideas.

Austin Reaves had another good game, and he hit another big shot, which put the Jazz away. He said, ” Russ attacked and Bron made a cut and they all swarmed to him… and I made a big shot.”

Reaves was questioned about LeBron James and his performance tonight. He said ” It’s just Bron being Bron. That’s basically all you can say. He’s one of the greatest players ever so, he just did his thing,”

The Jazz looked to be cruising to their 7th straight win, and they had 12 point lead with over 6 and half minutes left to play in the fourth. Then LeBron took over. He hit a tough layup over Gobert to cut the lead to 2. On the next possession, LeBron hit a deep 3 to tie the game up. After that Westbrook found a diving LeBron who smashed it home to give the Lakers the lead. He continued his onslaught as he hit another 3 put the Lakers up by 3.
But the game wasn’t over as the Jazz cut the lead to 1 with 37 second remaining. Then the rookie Austin Reaves stepped up and knocked down the dagger, which essentially sealed the game.

LeBron James had 15 points in the fourth quarter and he ended the game with 33 points, 6 assists, and 8 rebounds. Donovan Mitchell had a monster game, and he ended up with 37 points, but his effort was in vain as the King carried the Lakers to another win.
