Massive Blow for Chicago Bulls as NFL Veteran’s $35 Million Worth Son Injured Just Before the NBA Season Commences

The Chicago Bulls were one of the most dominant teams in the Eastern Conference last season. However, their dismal performances in the playoffs did not provide enough justice to the season they were having.
It seems the bad news for the Bulls fanbase just keeps on coming. Lonzo Ball, one of the key players for the franchise last season is a major doubt for the 2022-23 season.
The eldest son of eminent businessman and former NFL star, LaVar Ball, underwent surgery on his left knee in January this year. Although he showed signs of stepping onto the field for the Bulls, it seems his chances are all but over now.

According to reports, the $35 million worth star is expected to miss training camp and is doubtful for the start of the regular season because of lingering pain and discomfort following meniscus surgery on his left knee in January. The 24-year-old was sidelined for most of the season last year following his injury concerns.
How good was Lonzo Ball for the Chicago Bulls last season?
Led by DeMar DeRozan, the Chicago Bulls were a force to reckon with in the Eastern Conference. His performances were complemented by Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and also Lonzo Ball.
Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. However, he played just 35 games last season after the Bulls brought him in from the New Orleans Pelicans. (Source: ESPN)

DeRozan was the leader both on and off the court for the Bulls last season. He averaged 27.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 76 games!

Despite their good performance in the regular season, their inability to perform in the playoffs overshadowed almost all their achievements of last season. The Bulls faced Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs.
The Bucks breezed past the Bulls with a 4-1 series win. DeMar DeRozan faced the wrath of the media and the fans after a dismal performance. He averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
