However, the latest news suggests that Russ isn’t going anywhere.

Russell Westbrook to stay another season

The Los Angeles Lakers are in all types of trouble this season. They still rely on the brilliancies of a 37-year-old LeBron James as Anthony Davis is currently out with injured and Russell Westbrook has not had the best of starts in LA.

With the team not being in their best form, the fans expected some major trades during the trade deadline. Especially the trade of Westbrook.

But his high salaries made trade difficult and the latest news on his future might disappoint some fans. According to Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN, the Lakers are expected to keep the trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook the following season as well.

He said, “I’ve even heard this phrasing of this is probably going to be the roster next year too. A lot of the minimum contract guys will change, but I think this is what they got.”

Despite all the rumors linking Westbrook to various teams across the NBA, the latest rumors point to another season in LA.

The Brodie averages 18.3 points, 7.5 assists, and 7.8 rebounds this season for the Lakers. Moreover, he averages 4.1 turnovers per game.
