LeBron vs MJ – the Stats

Despite Spike Lee and many others claiming that MJ is the GOAT, there are several others who take the side of LeBron James in the debate. One reason for this is LeBron’s all-round play. While MJ was a scoring machine, LeBron contributed not just in terms of points, but also through rebounds and assists. Furthermore, LeBron is currently 3rd in the all-time scoring list, 2 positions higher than MJ.

On the flip side, MJ has 6 titles as opposed to LeBron’s 4. Add to this, the fact that Jordan has never lost a series whenever he has reached the finals. Moreover, ‘His Airness’ is the only player in NBA history to win Defensive Player of the Year while averaging at least 30 points per game. Talk about contributions on both ends of the floor!

Regardless of the debate, it is important to give props to greatness when it arrives on an international stage, such as the NBA. Both LeBron and MJ have battled it out against some of the best squads in NBA history.

For LeBron, the Golden State Warriors, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Boston Celtics are examples of such opponents.
