However, everything changed when Draymond Green engaged in an altercation with his teammate, Jordan Poole. There have been a lot of developments since then. Now Green’s mother, Mary Babers Green, has come out in her son’s defense.

A lot has been said since the Green-Poole incident came to light. However, perhaps the most surprising statement came from Green’s mother, Mary Babers Green.

“That wasn’t a sucker punch. Dray didn’t aggressively go to Poole. His hands were down. Man to Man you go over to talk (to ask what’s up, what you say)! Got shoved and reacted.. End of story!”, Green’s mother tweeted on Monday.

However, she deactivated her Twitter account, which goes by the username @BabersGreen, on Tuesday. But it was too late as the transcripts of the tweet were already saved by fans.

Many players, analysts, and even Green’s teammates labeled the incident unacceptable. However, Draymond Green’s mother denied any aggression from Green’s side. She then claimed that it was Jordan Poole who started instead, and that led to Draymond Green reacting with a punch.

The video of the incident shows Green approaching Poole during the Warriors’ practice session. After the punch, Green and Poole were quickly separated by teammates and staff members. Furthermore, Green has since apologized to Poole and his teammates, adding that he will take some time away from the team. The Golden State Warriors are now expected to punish Green for his actions, but nothing official has been released by the franchise on this yet.

Jordan Poole, on the other hand, looks to have moved on. He had a decent outing against the Los Angeles Lakers in the team’s recent pre-season game. Notably, Poole led the scoring charts for the Warriors with 25 points in 23 mins. He also bagged 4 rebounds and 6 assists. However, the Warriors succumbed to a loss as Anthony Davis‘ 28 points helped win it for the Lakers.
