After all the bashing that Russell Westbrook had to face until now because of his inability to lead the way for the Los Angeles Lakers, it seems like the negative reinforcement came in handy? Well, either way, the Lakers finally grabbed a victory, that too, a great one.
Despite all signs pointing towards them losing this one, they outdid themselves. And even though Russell Westbrook’s turnovers were still pretty high, at least Anthony Davis was in a position to joke about it this time.

Anthony Davis jokes around about Westbrook’s turnovers
It wasn’t just the Los Angeles Lakers‘ victory that came as a surprise to all, but also the players that came to their aid. Malik Monk had a season-high 27 points, hitting bucket after bucket in clutch moments. This was his best game as a Laker by far.
On top of that, Russell Westbrook finally showed up the way everyone expected him to when he was first added to the roster this offseason. He finished the night with 25 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds. Along with Anthony Davis‘ 24 points, which helped them extend the game to overtime and an eventual 120-117 victory.

Although Westbrook may have figured out his way to contribute to the scoreboard. But he is yet to work on his turnovers that have major consequences on the result of the game. He had 8 this time, but AD couldn’t help but hilariously point out that at least it wasn’t in the double-digits, which could have turned into a quadruple-double rather than a triple-double.
AD on Westbrook:"We had a conversation about what he wants to see from us so we can help him cut down the turnovers. We talked about it, & it showed tonight." AD glanced at boxscore: "I say that, & he got 8. But at least it wasn’t – he had a triple double, not a quadruple double"

Are the Lakers done with losing?
The purple and gold seemed to be lost without LeBron James on the floor, or at least that’s what fans believed before today. And rightly so. Although that perception might have changed after they beat a team, which is one of the best in the Eastern Conference right now.
This has helped the Lakers improve their record to 7-5, and are now on a two-game winning streak. They will be facing the Minnesota Timberwolves next. Do you think they can keep this momentum going? Or will they slip away just as quickly as they started rising?
