Notre Dame‘s commitment to building leaders out of athletes is not just for the field, but also for the community. A talented QB on the squad this year is proving why the Irish are in the society. This season, he’s enriching the lives of some deserving young fans out of his own pocket. At the end of the day, few achievements carry more weight than acts of humanity.

Sophomore QB Anthony Rezac is stepping up to that role. He is extending a warm hand out to the community at the cost of his NIL money. For the rest of this season, Rezac will be sponsoring a parent-child duo for Notre Dame’s home games with 2 tickets. Which means, starting this Saturday, 7 children will get to experience Notre Dame football because of the QB’s efforts!
The QB actually began this practice a year ago, partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph. “Being able to use my NIL to help out this community is a blessing, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep this going,” Rezac shared on X. The sophomore QB is still relatively new based on experience, because he has yet to find playing time at South Bend so far. Rezac was one of the best QBs out of Nebraska, winning the Gatorade Player of the Year (NE) in 2024. But within two years of being at Indiana, he’s made South Bend his own.

Marcus Feeman has instilled a culture that prioritizes giving back to the community. In 2024, he and LB Jack Kiser won the All-State AFC Good Works Team for their community service. Freeman himself is part of some key charities and runs the successful ‘Cleats For a Cause’ program at Notre Dame. “It’s about making sure that we take care of things right here in our own community,” Notre Dame executive associate athletics director for culture and engagement JP Abercrombie told The Observer last year.

But for Rezac, it’s not just program culture that pushed him to start this rewarding partnership. Serving the community seems to be a strong value in the Rezac family, too.

Teddy Rezac, Anthony’s twin brother, also joined hands for the initiative
Anthony Rezac is not the only Rezac bringing some much-needed joy to families this season. His twin brother and teammate, LB Teddy Rezac, is also giving out two tickets to families via the organization. The LB played in 8 games last year and recorded his first career tackle against Army. The Rezac brothers have long been engaged in community service, courtesy of their parents, DJ and Lisa Rezac. The brothers have worked with organizations like Heartland Family Service League and Youth Frontiers.

Their sister, Carly, helped contribute to the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. She continues her work as a student at the University of Arizona. At Notre Dame, the brothers’ philanthropic views fell in line with those that are heralded by the program. “I remember going to Nebraska football games as a child and recognize how blessed we were going to games, and with the current state of NIL and our family mission of Serving Others this is the first thing we would like to give back towards and serve others,” Teddy and Anthony Rezac shared on social media when they first partnered with the group.
What’s your perspective on:
Are the Rezac brothers setting a new standard for athletes, or is this just a rare exception?
Have an interesting take?
The Rezac brothers this season provide reliability on the depth chart in their respective departments. Though they are yet to build a name for themselves in Notre Dame football, they sure will be remembered by the happy children who will be sponsored by the duo.
