Thanksgiving is a special time to spend with one’s close ones, and football stars are no different. Ahead of Thanksgiving day, NFL stars are recouping with family and friends to spend some quality time with them amidst the grueling NFL schedule. Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany hosted a small Thanksgiving dinner at their house on Sunday, and pictures from the same have gone viral.

But Kansas City Chiefs fans also spotted something else that proved why he is the greatest quarterback in the league right now. What was this that has made the Internet’s collective mouth fall wide open in amazement?

Mahomes host a “Friendsgiving”

Brittany Mahomes took to Instagram to share a story from one of her friends who had attended the Thanksgiving party. The friend in question was Betina Gozo, a global trainer for Nike. Brittany is big on fitness and even has her own fitness program. In the picture we could see Betina holding up a card with the word “Thankful” embossed on it.

The card also featured a message on friendship. “We can’t choose which family we are born into, but we can choose who walks along life’s journey with us.” The card also referred to the recipient as part of the Mahomes’ “chosen family“. Truly a heartwarming gesture that will make anyone’s heart melt!

Momma Kelce is also slated to work at a local eatery in Kansas City tomorrow, ahead of the clash of her two sons. But an X user also spotted something that will definitely make any Chiefs’ fan’s heart swell with pride.

Mahomes subtly shows off his accolades

Farzin Vousoughian shared a picture on X from the Thanksgiving dinner, where one could see a cupboard packed with trophies. 2 Vince Lombardi Trophies, 3 ESPY trophies, 2 NFL MVP trophies, an Offensive Player of the Year trophy, and many others. And that’s just in 5 years of his playing pro football. As his career progresses, Mahomes is going to need a bigger cupboard to house all his future trophies and accolades.

A day ahead of the Super Bowl rematch, it’s a good reminder for Chiefs fans what a great QB they have. On Monday, Mahomes and Co will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium. Last time they met for the Super Bowl LVII, the Chiefs beat them 38-35. Will history repeat itself or will the Eagles manage to clinch a difficult victory over the Chiefs on their home turf?
