The season’s recent weeks have not treated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers well. With their loss streak extending to 3, the team has to do some serious revisions before they battle it out with the Houston Texans. In Week 8, the Buccaneers traveled to New York to clash against the Bills, which the former brutally lost. As a result, when the head coach, Todd Bowles, stood behind the podium to face some blazing questions from the media, he had one thing to blame.

The audience, however, appreciated the Buccaneers fighting for the much-required win until the final play in the game. Yet, the team faltered in the offense, field position, and especially in the penalties department.

Gotta stop the penalties.” After listening to the head coach himself, it is clear that the penalties are a significant problem. But are they really the only problem?

Even in the clashes before facing the Bills, Tampa has faced double-digit penalties in games this season, which explains the staggering number this season. When talking specifically about the Bills, back-to-back penalties and Baker Mayfield being sacked did affect the Bucs. However, the facemask penalty bailed them out. Despite the late-game stunts, the Bucs lost, owing singularly to the miscalculations and penalties, per Bowles.
