Pittsburgh Steelers, after a demoralizing 31-17 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks, are trying to figure out how to make a comeback for a critical Week 3 matchup against the New England Patriots. The Steelers team and its coach, Mike Tomlin, face a serious injury crisis with the majority of their key team players being injured during their week 2 game with the Seahawks. Their week 2 loss brought them down to 1-1, the reason being a growing list of key players on the injury report, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

The Steelers entered week 2’s game with a high probability of losing. The team was already short-handed as it missed some of its key offensive players due to injury. Alex Highsmith had an ankle injury, Derrick Harmon and Deshon Elliott have MCL injuries, and Joer Porter Jr. has a hamstring injury. As per recent updates, Patrick Queen and Darius Slay have now joined the list of injured players. And as this wasn’t bad news for the team already, Highsmith (linebacker) and Isaiahh Loudermilk (defensive tackle) have already been ruled out of week 3’s game, and that just doesn’t stop there, as the game date approaches, more players could be ruled out of the roster.
As the team faces some serious roster issues, Mike Tomlin remains optimistic about the situation as he said to the media on Tuesday, “Injuries are a part of the game — certainly you adapt and move on,” he added, “But it probably comes with more challenges in the early portion of the year. I think we’ve felt the facts of that.” But one player who feels much pressure on his shoulder now is Aaron Rodgers, the QB.

Even though Rodgers had a strong start this season, following his outstanding performance against the New York Jets during week 1, week 2 was worrisome for the quarterback. If the team wants to upscale their stats and performance, then Rodgers and Mike Tomlin can no longer afford to lose more teammates to injury, or at least the team needs to have some backup plan to make an impactful game against the New England Patriots.

Are the Pittsburgh Steelers planning to bring Aaron Rodgers’s ex-teammate Samori Toure?
Trying out a few changes in their roster, the Pittsburgh Steelers are getting ready for the Week 3 game against the New England Patriots. The team conducted a tryout, which saw many talents, along with a free-agent wide receiver, Samori Toure, on Tuesday, who was hoping to join the team’s receiver position. Toure also has an old connection with Aaron Rodgers.
Toure (27) played the last two seasons with the Green Bay Packers, one of them alongside Aaron Rodgers. In 22 total games with the Packers, Toure caught 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown in addition to being a part of the special teams. He has experience playing in both outside receiver and slot receiver positions. Whether Toure receives an offer from the Steelers remains to be seen; the tryout indicates the Steelers are keeping options open for bolstering their offense. Mike Tomlin, the Steelers’ head coach, is now pressing his staff to develop young players and create winning game plans. As he said, “We have some young people gaining some real game experience, and we’re being challenged as strategists to bring the game to them.”

On a different note, the Steelers have rotated their defensive line. The team signed DeMarvin Leal from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. This was done to fill the spot of defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk, who was placed on the reserve/injured list after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
We shall keep you updated as more improvements on the rosters take place.
