Four-time MVP and Super Bowl champion, who had joined the New York Jets in a stunning offseason trade, is now bedridden due to the injury caused in the Week 1 game. He tore his left Achilles tendon. The New York Jets are on a 2-game losing streak, but Rodgers believes they can turn it around at the home game against the mighty Chiefs.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee show, the former Green Bay Packers QB said, “It’s a home game. It’s Sunday Night Football. It’s an opportunity for us to go out there and show what we’re all about.” Rodgers sounds hopeful while the world is ready to ring the bells on the Jets.

Rodgers said the last few games had proved that anybody can beat anybody. “Let’s stay behind our guys, support our guys… Let’s have a little belief. As we saw this weekend, anybody can beat anybody. I’d like to see everybody stick together [including] our fan base, our former players, and our current players,” he said.

“Too much negativity. The world is crashing down after three weeks, (it’s) a long season a lot of time a lot of things that can happen,” the 39-year-old added. Though his optimism is inspiring, the Jets’ campaign seems to be running on hopes rather than an offensive game plan.

Last week against The Patriots, the defense of the Jets was masterful containing The Patriots at just 15. Their offense, on the other hand, was abysmal. They scored only 10. Jets’ replacement QB Zach Wilson has shown little signs of hope to carry the burden. The youngster is buckling under the pressure, while The Chiefs’ young gun 28-year-old Patrick Mahomes is firing on all cylinders.

Patrick Mahomes, the 2018 MVP and 2020 Super Bowl MVP, led The Chiefs to back-to-back AFC titles. Mahomes has thrown for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns with no interceptions. The entire Chiefs team is reaching new peaks in their individual careers, gelling as a unit and looking to win it all. This is in complete contrast with the Jets’ campaign up to this point.

The New York Jets have had a difficult last 2 years and Rodgers was paid big money to come and stabilize the team. Something that didn’t pan out as planned because of the injury. Jets expected Zach Wilson, the 24-year-old QB, to be the protégé to A-Rod. But now, it had to thrust him into the starter position.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh stated after the week 1 game to the media, “Yeah, he’ll be the guy,” when inquired about Wilson’s starting role. Wilson will face his toughest test yet against the Chiefs, who have one of the most explosive offenses and opportunistic defenses in the league. The young QB and the entire Jets’ team will have their work cut out for themselves when they host the Chiefs on Oct. 2.
