As Jimmy Kimmel’s tenure as the host of the LA Bowl games comes to an end, retired Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski‘s reign begins. With him as the new host of SoFi Stadium’s LA Bowl, he even signed a multi-year agreement to rename the annual bowl game after him. Now, it is called the LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk.

Rob Gronkowski isn’t an amateur in football. During his playing career, he’s a 4-time SB champion and 2014 NFL Comeback Player of the Year. After leaving the field in 2022, he remained active in football as an NFL analyst on Fox Sports. He also joined FanDuel Sports Betting to offer lucrative Gronk Profit Spike deals to fans. Gronk knows how to succeed while keeping everything fun. It’s not surprising UCLA head coach Chip Kelly feels he deserves a bowl named after him.
Rob Gronkowski appreciates Chip Kelly’s positive remarks
In a recent Instagram story by Rob Gronkowski, he shared a statement by Chip Kelly. It read, “If there’s anybody that should have a bowl named after him, it’s Gronk. I think he’s great for football. He makes football fun…” The 34-year-old former NFL tight end showed his reverence to the UCLA HC with the following words, “Appreciate the love. Excited for the game, much respect.”

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the LA Bowl for two years under the name Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl. And now that Rob Gronkowski is taking his place, he’s excited to host his very own bowl game that is named after him. Gronk has promised that they’re “going to light up college football bowl season” with an “epic” game. So, suspense and anticipation are thick leading up to the game.

It looks like Chip Kelly isn’t the only one singing Gronk’s praises. VP, Head of Global Partnerships Chris Sloan said, “Rob is larger than life and an outstanding representation of football at the highest level. The LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk continues to merge the world of competitive sports with top-notch entertainment, and we cannot wait for the fans to experience college bowl season with Rob Gronkowski.“
The LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk is set to commence on December 16 at SoFi Stadium. The bowl game will feature a fiery competition between Mountain West’s No. 1 and the Pac-12’s No. 5 selections. Needless to say, every fan is as excited as Rob Gronkowski for the upcoming LA Bowl.
