Good times seem to be ahead for running back J.K. Dobbins. Harbaugh being the new HC for the Chargers is leaving no stone unturned while bolstering his roster. Now Dobbins has become the latest ex-Ravens player to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The player previously played for the Baltimore Ravens suffered a major setback last season that led him to be away from the sport for quite a long time now. Overcoming his injury, he is all set to be sailing with Jim Harbaugh’s program. As per the reports, yesterday that is on April 17, the Los Angeles program signed former Ravens running-back to a one-year deal.

Dobbins too confirmed the news that he will be part of the Chargers family from now on through a tweet where he wrote, “Let’s do it #LaVuelta”. However, Jim Harbaugh’s program will not be difficult for him, you know why? Because he will be joining his other running-back mate, Gus Edwards who also made his way out of the Ravens to join the Chargers.

Other than the players, there is an army of ex-Ravens coaches and executives who switched from Jim Harbaugh’s brother’s program to Los Angeles. Dobbins will be running the ball under the guidance of Greg Roman, his former Ravens offensive coordinator. Other than this, a few other names with whom Dobbins had a prior connection and whom he will find joining the Chargers are fullback Ben Mason, lineman Bradley Bozeman and tight end Hayden Hurst. Credit goes to Joe Hortiz, the new HC for the Los Angeles for putting to use his 20-year bond with the Ravens. Hence, it will be a great opportunity to make a comeback for Robins after his injury.

Tough times for Dobbins

Dobbins is one of the most explosive backs that the NFL has witnessed. The 25-year-old averaged 5.8 yards per carry during his career. This made him find the highest position among the running backs with at least 200 carries since 2020. With this, he has amassed 15.4% of run attempts over the past four seasons.

However, his journey in the league has not been very smooth due to his back-to-back injuries. Going by the numbers, over his three-season stint at Baltimore, Dobbins had been out of the game 42 times among 51 games. The last 16 of last season gave him a difficult time because of a torn Achilles. Back in September, last year, he went down five minutes after halftime while taking a short pass in the right flat. The time did not favor Dobbins and he was wrestled to the ground by M.J. Stewart, the Houston Texas safety.

In March Dobbins became an unrestricted free agent as he missed 43 of 67 career games equivalent to 64%. However, his fate seems to have favored as of now, as the running back will be finding his second home in Los Angeles Chargers.
