“You Can Still Delete This”: LeBron James’ Unheralded Support for Deshaun Watson Leaves NFL World Absolutely Disgusted

Deshaun Watson has become a controversial figure in the NFL world. The shadow of the sexual harassment charges against him is still following him. And it also engulfs anyone who shows their support for the QB. NBA superstar LeBron James learnt that the hard way.

Self-confessed Cleveland Browns fan, James, tweeted his appreciation for the franchise QB after a solid performance against the Washington Commanders. But the fans gave the basketball legend an earful about it.

Deshaun Watson put up a solid show at the center as the Browns drubbed the Commanders in Week 17 matchup. That prompted LeBron James to tweet in appreciation of the QB.

“Yessir D Watson!! Another one. That boy getting his rhythm back!” James tweeted with the hashtag of the franchise.

But he wouldn’t have imagined the outrage that awaited him. The NFL world did not like this unheralded show of support for Watson. Fans even asked him to delete the tweet. This fan thinks James’ account is hacked as the tweet can’t be real.

Another fan implored the NBA legend to delete the tweet.

A fan asked James to see the sentiments of his fans.

Another fan asked James about the reason he is supporting Watson.

But a section of fans did show their support for James and his opinion. This fan knows the reason James tweeted in Watson’s support.

According to this fan, the Browns QB deserves a second chance.

The basketball superstar surely supported Watson on the sporting merit of his performance against the Commanders. But events took a drastic turn there.

The accusations notwithstanding, Deshaun Watson has gradually started to show why the Browns wanted him despite everything. Since coming into the lineup, the QB has led the team to three wins in five games. The Browns had registered just four wins in the previous outings.

He started again in Week 17 and threw 169 passing yards in the game. That’s a decent outing in a run-friendly Browns offense. To top it up, Watson threw three passing touchdowns to lead the team to their seventh win of the season. Hence came the LeBron James tweet.

The Browns are already out of the playoff picture with a 7-9 overall record and a single game to go. But they are surely finishing the season on a high. But will Watson’s past continue to haunt him next season and forever?
