After the interview with Harbaugh on Tuesday, the Chargers reportedly responded quickly by raising their contract offer to him. According to James Yoder of Michigan Football Report, the rumored proposal stands at a substantial $15 to $18 million annually, stretching over a five-year term, and could amount to an eye-watering $90 million.
The Chargers require a coaching and managerial reshuffle, following the departure of head coach Brandon Staley and GM Tom Telesco, after a lopsided 63-21 loss to the Raiders on December 15. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported mutual interest between the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh, stating, “It is real and it is legitimate. I believe Harbaugh has a mutual interest as well.
