But finding a trade partner is difficult, as Cook’s salary is too high and he may not want to restructure his contract. Some teams possibly come on the front foot, if he hits the free agency market. One of them is the Dolphins, who could boost their offense with Cook and also annoy their division rival, the Jets. Cook has been a Viking since 2017, but his future is uncertain.

The Jets and the Dolphins have been bitter rivals since 1966 when they joined the American Football League. They have clashed for divisional dominance and played some classic games over the years. But the Jets have always come up short against the Dolphins, losing more games (56–58–1) and never winning a playoff matchup. And, the Jets seeing a new obstacle: the Miami Dolphins might bet on Dalvin Cook, who could elevate their offense to the next level. The Jets, who are in rebuilding mode, would have a harder time competing with the Dolphins if they land Cook. This trade could make the rivalry even more intense and frustrating for the Jets, who are still rebuilding their team.

Jets look to Rodgers to restore relevance in AFC

With a blockbuster trade for future HOF-er Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have made a bold move to end their playoff drought that dates back to 2010. Rodgers is a proven winner who brings his experience, leadership, and arm talent to a Jets team that is still in rebuilding mode.
