Aaron Rodgers‘ next move has become a hot topic of conversation recently since he recently came out of his ‘darkness retreat’. Although he has yet to announce his future in the NFL, the world has started speculating. Meanwhile, many teams are eagerly waiting for Rodgers to make a decision; so that they could make a move in the offseason. Previously, Rodgers teased fans about possibly playing for the Raiders and reuniting with his former teammate Davante Adams.

However, as per the latest reports, Rodgers’ move to the Raiders is all set to fail, as the Las Vegas team is likely closing the door for the 39-year-old QB. During the recent episode of ‘Speak’, former Eagles running back LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy absolutely tore apart the Raiders for possibly pulling out of the Rodgers race.

Aaron Rodgers’ move to the Raiders reportedly won’t happen

When the Raiders parted ways with their long-time QB, Derek Carr, many thought the Las Vegas team was eying for Rodgers. However, it seems like they have no contingency plan after reportedly closing the door on the 4-time MVP. As McCoy said, I don’t get it, like you don’t have nothing there now. But you do have like top five, top 3 wide receiver, right, that have great chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. I think some of Aaron Rodgers’ best balls was with this receiver Davante Adams. I don’t understand.

The former Eagles‘ RB also made a reference to the current Raiders HC Josh McDaniels and his relationship with Tom Brady. I don’t know if he’s (Josh McDaniels) a great coach, I haven’t seen it yet as a head coach. But as a quarter, he has been solid with Tom Brady. So, now, you bring a guy like Aaron Rodgers, who used to I’m gonna say bullying most coaches, but now, it’s a respect thing. ‘Oh well he coached Tom Brady, so he’s gonna look at me like a regular person’… No, it’s a great fit, I think it could work out where you could manage A-Rod’s attitude, and swagger,” McCoy further said.

McCoy believes the Raiders have a great offense, which could suit Rodgers. It will be interesting to see what the Raiders are planning at the moment since they already lost Carr.

Is the Jets the right option for Rodgers?

The Jets are also exploring the quarterback market at the moment, as they already had a positive meeting with Carr. However, both parties are playing the waiting game right now. The Jets are waiting for Rodgers to make a decision; at the same time, Carr is also most likely doing the same thing.

If Rodgers retires, it could suddenly increase Carr’s value in the market and many teams would be looking at the 31-year-old QB as a viable option. On the other hand, the Packers are waiting for Rodgers to make a decision and most likely would trade him to the Jets if he decides to play in the 2023 NFL season.
