Such a huge salary expectation has really stirred up the NFL world. The fans are divided on the matter. While some fans aren’t happy or convinced that Payton should get such a salary, others want their franchise to pay up and bring him in. So, the question isn’t if he is worth the money. The real question is: if anyone today would be willing to pay that kind of money for a head coach.

And the simple answer is why not? There are franchises that pay exorbitant salaries to their players. A proven coach is worth a lot these days. He has already spoken with a few teams and it is still to be seen where he ends up if he does make a comeback next season.
