The New York Jets held the New England Patriots well in the first half of the week 11 clash. But everything went wrong in the second. The Patriots scored, and the Jets blanked out. And NY head coach Robert Saleh did not hold back at all when asked about it.

The Patriots handed the Gang Green their fourth defeat of the season. This plummeted them to the bottom of the division table.

Robert Saleh doesn’t hold back

Head coach Robert Saleh minced no words when talking about the Jets‘ second-half performance against the Patriots on Sunday. Both teams went into halftime with a 3-3 score line. The Jets blanked out in the second-half, which meant that the Patriots needed just one score to win it. And they did win it 10-7.

He called on his Jets team to get together to find ways to get better. He also said that the team is not out of the playoff race yet as there are still games to play.“We gotta show up tomorrow and find ways to get better. That’s it. It’s like I said, whether we win or lose, there’s still seven games to be played. We have the whole season ahead of us. So, we’re still right there in the thick of things and we just gotta get back on the horse and get ready to play another football game,” the Jets HC added.

The blanked-out Jets’ offense

The Jets’ offense looked out of its depth when they took on Bill Belichick’s Patriots. While the defense held on for a major chunk of the game, the offense could not capitalize on it. In the end, a late punt return caught the defense off-guard, and the Patriots won 10-3.

New York’s star quarterback Zach Wilson had a terrible game with just a 77-yard game. He completed just nine of his 22 pass attempts. He did not throw any touchdown pass and the only time the Jets scored was through a field goal attempt in the second quarter.

The second-half was even more dismal offensively for the Jets. They managed just two yards in the whole second half in seven possessions. NY falls to the last position in the AFC East divisional table with a 6-4 record. They still can make it to the playoffs but will have to step up in the remaining seven games. Can they?
